From some family to yours this Christmas Season
Wishing You All the Best this Christmas and much Happiness for a Healthy and Happy New Year in 2012.
Accountability and Entitlement
"I've got some problems with you people!"
Yes, good old Frank Costanza calling it the way he sees. Well, he's not the only one. Even though Christmas is just four days away, I'm musing as Frank.

Since when did "E" come before "A"? In all of my years of academia, and now helping my youngest lad Adam with his homework as needed, I still do not recall seeing "E" before "A". So how does this happen? This week I've had enough interactions of this sort from work, from encounters with drivers on the road, with drivers while on my morning and / or evening training runs.
Are we, as a civilization, so far past soft that we no longer take accountability for our actions? We all know the examples, over indulgence of anything, not following through with commitments and expectations to your employer, your spouse, your family, your neighbors, rudeness with the retail Sammy or Suzie in the long lines, the local, state or federal government debacles, the list can go on and on. How difficult is it in this day of never ending e-communication to acknowledge your oversight and steps to correct. Not one of us is a mind reader, although my beautiful wife Lori will beg to differ.
Pleading ignorance will only work up to a certain age, like maybe 7 or 8. Come on people, step up, be responsible for your actions.
Now that I'm off my Frank Costanza soapbox, you're probably thinking, what does this have to do with running and walking. Plenty.
Yes, your days are filled, relatives are coming in from out of town or your traveling. You've more social engagements and parties than days left on the calendar for 2011. You need to keep committed to the path you've chosen to improve your health, your fitness or your running, racing goals. It will not be long until January comes around and your festivus celebrating has gotten the best-of-us or best-of-you and you're back with the ten plus pounds you've worked so hard to lose. Or your blood pressure or stress levels are back where they were before you began walking or running. Keep committed, be flexible and stick to the plan. Just don't come back to me complaining if you've decided to click on and follow this routine below for the next two weeks.
