Over Complicating Simplicity

As we grow older, wiser and develop healthier lifestyle habits, we have memories of events, people and places which will bring a smile or a tear. School, family holiday traditions, past careers and old work friends, favorite sporting events, perhaps even your best running / racing performances are just a few things which to come to mind while experiencing something in your everyday life. Lori and I have three boys Drew, Alex and Adam, Each one a joy and treasure, also a piece of work depending on the day. As they grow older and experience school, athletics and friendship changes, I recall myself at their age and what was a big deal then, seem so much more so now and how much more so everyone is stressed.

My first coach post college, John Mathews used to have a very simple saying for both training and life, Keep It Short and Simple. Don't over complicate things, don't over think it, don't over analyze. Maybe we can all use a little KISS. Life was indeed that much simpler, Back In The Day.
